| Descripción : | Diagnostic instruments are used in all dentistry procedures, from prophylaxis to the development of total prostheses. The instruments can be a potential source of infection if not properly cared for. This study compared the efficacy of transport and storage given to the instruments after they left sterilization by dental staff within the UDLA Dental Care Center. The research was carried out in 5 groups: 1.Control Group, 2. Storage in backpack without plastic box previously disinfected, 3. Storage in backpack more plastic box previously disinfected. 4. Cancel without plastic box previously disinfected and 5. Cancel more plastic box previously disinfected, total of 200 samples. Those that were evaluated making a smear of each one, transfer of the sample in BHI (transport agar) to the laboratory where they were seeded in nutritive agar. Seed samples had bacterial proliferation with one exception control group. Overall, the results showed that the best time to use the instruments in patients is when they leave the autoclave equipment to avoid cross-contamination. |
