| Descripción : | The great evolution of the Internet in Ecuador, especially on mobile devices, requires companies to use online stores (Web sites) to remain competitive and commercialize their products and services to Internet users. Online stores are key to organizations worldwide. They represent a new revenue source and incorporate valuable information. However, with opportunity comes with risk -Online stores are at risk of cyberattacks. Mainly, successful online stores that have thousands of hits daily are highly exposed to countless types of cyberattacks that may cause considerable damage. They are the main target of cyber criminals who seek user data, such as credit card information to steal money from bank accounts, or they simply aim at disabling the whole site to harm all users. The security of an Online store should be one of the main concerns from the moment a Web site is designed and created. Specific processes and security standards should be followed to ensure the efficiency of secure online marketing and, thus, security tools and techniques are key to prevent and combat cyberattacks. The most effective tools are SSL certificates that encrypt information to prevent data theft, and Web Application Firewall (WAF) that protect the Web server from malicious attacks such as DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service). Additionally, tools like Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools are also essential to safeguard the information of Online stores. They help protect it from dangerous penalties from Google that may also result in… There are Web security tools of all kinds that help to protect sites from cyberattacks; nonetheless, when implementing one, professionals should select the best one according the needs to site and the attacks it is exposed to. Scanning tools that analyze the site and show its vulnerabilities can be used to implement the best strategy for the Online store to make it secure and reliable for any user. |
