| dc.description | It could be said that in the last 10 years technology and telecommunications have evolved very quickly, this have had an impact in different areas, one of them health care management. Nowadays technology can be used for monitoring of sick patients who need constant supervision for example diabetic people. This project involve design and construction of a portable prototype for glucose monitoring, using wireless communications and electronic devices. The prototype makes possible acquisition, monitoring, control and management of glucose level data for each patient. The data acquisition is performed using a digital glucometer where ever the patient is, whit the only limitation being that it has to be a place with GSM network coverage, data is transferred to an emitter module which send the as a text message. Data is the received by the receptor module that sends to a computer. For storing data a postgreSql database is used, it is open source and is cloud based. Additionally, the application count with an alert system which notifies to the physician the glucose level of the patient when it is critical and to the patient when he needs to attend an appointment with his doctor. | en |
