dc.descriptionIn the last years, there has been a tourist growth in Ecuador. The incomes of the industry increased 19 percent from 2013 to 2014, and the country is recognition as a leading green destiny in South America presents an excellent opportunity for the development of adventure tourism. Ecuador has demographic advantages that allow the practice of different tourist activities, and the Andes Mountains that cross trough the country allow snowy mountains tourism to stand out. This practice has grown at the same pace at the tourist industry itself, boosted by the improvement on the service provided by the national guides. These characteristics have drawn attention of international tourists, specifically those who practice snowy mountains tourism, people from a middle class that are aged between 30 and 50 years old. United States citizens represent an attractive market in this segment because 31 percent of all U.S. citizens practice sports activities during their vacations. The development of the market research showed that Ecuador has the infrastructure and service providers needed to exploit snowy mountain tourism in the U.S. market; however, there are some requirements from the clients that are not being satisfied. They want trained guides that speak English, rental service for mountain equipment and different options of food to select from, additionally; they want to practice adventure activities on their free days. These unsatisfied requirements open the door for the creation of a company that offers snowy mountains tourism, complemented by adventure activities. Condor Summits is created to satisfy these requirements. It will offer tourist packages that offer trained guides in motivation and leadership who master English language, free service of mountain equipment rental and a selection of different options of food from where the client can choose, it will also offer different adventure activities to do on the free days of the tour. The tours last 9 days, costumers will climb 2 snowy mountains and have 3 days to practice adventure activities. The price of the package is 2.574 dollars for clients who buy it individually and 2.062 dollars for those who buy it as a group of two people or more. This is the optimal price costumers are willing to pay according to the Van Westendorp model that was done in the market research, each tour will allow a 74 percent income margin. The company will use a pull promotion strategy, which will attract the costumers with advertising campaigns, sales promotion, direct marketing, publicity and merchandising. Condor Summits will be constituted as a company of Limited Responsibility, it will adopt an small structure with 3 direct members: CEO, Marketing Advisor and Tour Leader, this last one will travel next to the clients throughout the tour, being the face of the company during this time and assisting the guide and costumers to allow them having the best experience. After the first 5 years, the project is attractive to the partners. It will generate a NPV of 83.087 dollars which is higher than the initial investment of 82.209 dollars and allows 101 percent of rentability. Additionally, it will present an IRR of 31 percent, better than the WACC of 11,15 percent. The working capital will be recovered in less than four years and the fifth year will present a ROE of 51 percent.en
dc.description.abstractLos últimos años han presentado un crecimiento turístico en el Ecuador. Los ingresos en esta industria incrementaron en 19% del 2013 al 2014 y el reconocimiento del país como destino verde en Sudamérica presenta una excelente oportunidad para el desarrollo del turismo de aventura. Las ventajas demográficas del país permiten la práctica de diversas actividades turísticas, entre estas destaca el turismo de montaña, cuya práctica es constante en la cordillera de los Andes del país. La práctica de esta disciplina ha crecido a la par de la industria turística, impulsada en gran parte por la mejora en la calidad del servicio ofertado por los guías de montaña nacionales. Estos factores han llamado la atención del turista internacional, específicamente del segmento que practica turismo de montaña, los cuales pertenecen a una clase económica media alta y comprenden edades entre 30 y 50 años. Los ciudadanos de Estados Unidos presentan un segmento muy atractivo pues el 31 por ciento de todos los turistas, practica actividades deportivas durante sus vacaciones. La investigación de mercado realizada mostró que el Ecuador tiene la infraestructura y los proveedores de servicio necesarios para explotar el turismo de montaña en los clientes estadounidense, no obstante, no se satisfacen las necesidades principales de los clientes que consiste en guías capacitados que hablen inglés, servicio de renta de equipamiento y selección de distintas opciones de alimentación, adicionalmente existe también el deseo de los turistas por realizar actividades de aventura durante sus días libres. Estas necesidades y deseos insatisfechos abren la oportunidad a una empresa que oferte tours de montaña y actividades complementarias de aventura. Condor Summits se constituye como una empresa para cumplir con estos requerimientos. La misma ofrecerá en sus paquetes turísticos guías de montaña capacitados en motivación y liderazgo que dominan el idioma inglés, servicio de alquiler de equipamiento de montaña sin costo adicional y una selección de alimentación para los clientes; adicionalmente, durante los días libres del tour ofrecerá una variedad de actividades de aventura complementarias. Los paquetes turísticos tendrán una duración de 9 días, en los cuales se ascenderán 2 nevados y se realizarán 3 días de actividades de aventura. Los tours tienen un precio de 2.574 dólares para clientes que lo realicen de forma individual y de 2.062 dólares para los que lo hagan en grupo. Este precio es el precio óptimo que los clientes estarían dispuestos a pagar en base al modelo Van Westendorp realizado y generan un margen del 74 por ciento por cada tour. La empresa utilizará una estrategia de promoción de jalar para atraer a los clientes mediante campañas de publicidad, promoción de ventas, marketing directo, publicity y merchandising. Condor Summits se constituirá como una compañía de Responsabilidad Limitada, la misma adoptará una estructura pequeña de 3 miembros directos: Gerente General, Asesor de Marketing y Líder de Tour, el último acompaña a los clientes durante el tour y es la imagen de la empresa en este momento, asistiendo al guía y a los clientes para que su experiencia sea la mejor. Al finalizar los primeros 5 años, el proyecto es atractivo para los socios. Se genera un VAN de 83.087 dólares, lo cual es superior a la inversión inicial de 82.209 dólares y permite una rentabilidad de del 101 por ciento. Adicionalmente, se presenta una TIR de 31 por ciento, superior al WACC de 11,15 por ciento. El capital de trabajo se lo recuperará en menos de 4 años y el quinto año presentará un ROE de 51 por ciento.es_ES
