Descripción : Being healthy has been a fundamental part of human beings throughout history, the pursuit of health has taken different paths according to each social group of humanity, where different methods have originated and medicinal practices evolving and prevailing according to effectiveness and cultural value that had each. Conventional or scientific medicine in the last centuries has been the “official” system and more acceptances worldwide leaving other practices often forgotten. This is the case of our indigenous, Andean Ancestral medicine that historically since the Spanish conquest has been overshadowed falling often forgotten and only preserved and guarded jealously by small family groups that have been closely linked to the Andean culture and their medical practices where there has not been proper disclosure of the advantages and benefits both medicinal and cultural. Turubamba characteristics make the project a favorable place for the new type of health proposed, with the edge of the city of Quito Parish hosts a large number of indigenous communities because of cultural and social issues that have arisen. The Centro de Referencia Medicinal Andina seeks to provide and promote a service different health, linked to the principles and ideals of the Andean medicine also rescuing the cultural and traditional values it contains, likewise complement with elements of modern medicine making process health an integral element. A project proposes an infrastructure to be a landmark in the process of non-conventional health ranging from growing food and medicinal plants to the medical treatment offered, respectful to the environment that sits and constantly being linked arises with the “Pacha Mama”.
