Resumen : En el primer capítulo se desarrolla la parte teórica, aspecto importante para el sustento teórico práctico del proyecto...
Descripción : The first chapter sets out the theoretical part, a key aspect to support the theoretical and practical elements of the project. The relevant issues provide the necessary basis for the redesign of the network to be acquired. The main issues include: local area networks, topologies of wired and wireless networks, converged networks, IP telephony, wireless networks, service quality, security in data networks and, finally, the choice of methodology to be used is undertaken. The second chapter is based on the first phase of Ciscos Top-Down methodology. The issues discussed at this phase are: technical and business goals, the current situation of the Municipality and an analysis of network traffic. This study enables possible failures in the current network infrastructure to be identified. The third chapter is based on redesigning the LAN multiservice network, in which development of the Top-Down model phases continue. The issues discussed in this chapter are: design of the network topology, logical addresses and protocols, security strategies and management, selecting the best topology and network devices. Finally indications are provided with respect to the necessary documentation to be generated during the process of redesigning the network. The fourth chapter, the cost analysis of network redesign is done. The cost analysis is based on the materials and equipment used in both the active and passive network. In this analysis, only the costs of the cabling structure and switching equipment is considered. In the final chapter the general conclusions of the project and recommendations should be made to have an optimal network redesign.
