| Descripción : | The exportation of Ecuadorian banano represents 21 percent of none oil exports. This indicates its importance regarding Ecuadorian economy and the priority it should have due to the fact that Colombia, one of its primary competitors in banano exportation has applied a free trade agreement with USA (2012) and the European Union (2013). This comercial treaties allowed Colombia to become more competitive and obtain a greater roll in this market. Affecting negatively the exportation of Ecuadorian banano during the first years. This study also analyzes that the production and exportation of banano depends of a combination of factors such as climate, which could influence in a positive or negative way over the volume of exportation. This factors could even have greater influence than the application of a free trade agreement. |
