| Descripción : | This study is based on the 5th leading cause of death in Ecuador, which is death provoked by ground transportation. Due to this social problem, the idea of establish a Basic Life Trauma Support (ATLS) training center is presented. This center will be certified by the American College of Surgeons, ensuring its operation with an international guarantee and a scientific support. In this center doctors will be certified and learn how to deal with patients with Trauma, and as a result this will reduce the mortality rate in the country. The aim of this business plan is to identify the feasibility and viability of establishing a Trauma training center. Taking into account that its establishment will generate an input into the nation in the health area. In this research two methods were used: qualitative method (one interview to a surgeon and one interview to a cardiothoracic specialist) and quantitative (surveys to doctors that are currently studying their post-graduate specialization). Applying these methods, it is possible to identify that the demand exists from the doctors that want to be certified in ATLS. As a result, the research showed the opportunity of a viable business. From a survey of 50 doctors, 90% of them considered necessary the training of ATLS in order to improve their medical practices in their patients. According the answers from the interviews that were made on experts, this certification gives appropriate skills to assist patients with Trauma improving his physical and psychological condition. To conclude, this research affirms that the establishment of a certified ATLS training center is important and necessary for the health of the Ecuadorian community. Besides bringing a contribution to the human knowledge, it solved a social problem, and brings a profitable business |
