Descripción : The current demand of clothing made in Ecuador has increased significantly in recent years due to factors such as: high quality garments at low prices, constantly changing fashion trends linked to global supply and government regulations that benefit local investors. Due to these factors, Merac decided to venture into the textile market in the city of Quito. However, within the passing of the years there have identified some shortcomings and areas of possible improvement. Therefore, this dissertation seeks a way to improves profitability, strategic positioning and restructuring of the main areas of the company Merac. The external analysis found a growing trend of textile consumption of local production because of laws that drive entrepreneurship, support small companies as well as political and economic factors that have directly benefited the industry. The internal analysis of the company and its functional areas identified weaknesses in: planning, delineation of functions and excessive costs of sales and expenses resulting in a significant decrease in net income of the company. Furthermore, the current dissertation shows the following area of possible improvement: a) administrative: employee training, establishment of a strategic plan and relocation of the company; b) production: through the implementation of a time and motion study that would reduce costs and eliminate bottlenecks; c) Marketing and sales: by implementing a catalog shopping, showroom, advertising campaign and market research; d) Accounting and financial: by purchasing an accounting software. The total investment for improvement plan which involves a total investment of $ 63,640 which will be covered by 63% through direct financial credit and the remaining 37% through own funding. The possible scenario to implement improvements presented positive results for indicators IRR 44.31% and NPV 79138 whereby a payback period of 2 years, 4 months and 13 days standby; showing financial viability for the project.
