| dc.description | The objective of this investigation is to analyze the viability of the creation of an Adventure School and Outdoor Recreation, which focuses primarily on mountaineering and rock climbing. The company is divided in two parts. On one hand there will be the Adventure School, which will have an indoor rock climbing gym, located on the northern part of Quito. This gym will serve as a center for training and learning where guides and instructors will teach the clients about this vertical sport through training plans. On the other hand, outdoor recreational programs will be offered, which will consist of guided hiking trips and programs focused on rock climbing and mountaineering. The company will operate in the most central areas of Quito and its surroundings. The Company will be managed according to all of the legal requirements by the Ecuadorian state. There will be certified high mountain guides, which will have specific licenses which will allow them to operate in all kinds of terrains and provide safety and security at all times (ASEGUIM). Contemporary safety equipment which has been certified by international mountaineering regulations (UIAA) will be used at the Adventure School as well as during recreational outings. The unique selling point is to direct the clientele to work with the philosophy Leave no Trace and to promote its 7 basic principles. The initial idea for the business is to satisfy the needs of an unattended market, like mountaineering and rock climbing, within the city of Quito. In order to establish this business, it is necessary to have an initial investment of USD 147,057.31. 60% of this will be financed for 5 years through a banking entity at a rate of 9.15%. The remaining 40% will contribute as capital. The financial analysis determined a positive VAN and TIR. Similarly, the recovery period is less than 5 years and the rate of profitability is larger than 1. Therefore, this project can be presented as an opportunity for investment to investors. | en |
