| Descripción : | Periodontitis is a not reversible active inflammatory chronic process that is part of the pathogenesis of the periodontal disease, a common multifactorial pathology in the clinic of minor species that afflicts principally adult patients and gerontes of small and miniature breeds, this pathology produces injuries in periodontal tissues causing cases of chronic pain and loss of dental pieces. The aim of the present study was to stage the different degrees of severity of the periodontitis based on the count of leukocytes per view present in the crevice fluid. In the study participated 30 canine patients up to 15 Kg of weight that took part of the First Campaign of Oral Preventive and Curative Health of the UDLA Veterinary Clinic during the first quarter of 2016. There were evaluated the smears of 220 GCFs samples of the dental pieces (107, 108, 207, 208, 308, 309, 408, 409), the information was analyzed by statistical tests of ANOVA and Duncan finding a positive relation between the neutrophils per view and the severity of the inflammation. The frequency of presentation of the different degrees of severity of periodontitis was 13,33 % gingivitis, 40 % early periodontitis, 13,33 % moderated periodontitis and 33,33 % advanced periodontitis. There was not found any positive associations between the severity of the inflammation and the type of diet, use of chewable objects and frequency of dental brushed and professional dental cleaning. |
