| Descripción : | This research evidence obtaining the percentages of plaque in patients treated at the University of the Americas diagnosed with periodontal disease, to detect what values patients were discharged, and thus able to emphasize its proper treatment and subsequent monitoring of its improvement, in order to ensure the success and longevity of any dental treatment that is carried throughout his life. The research includes a sample of 165 medical histories whose patients had periodontal disease and therefore underwent a scaling and root planing as treatment, these clinical histories were made by students who attend the subject of Clinical III and IV in the period 2016-1 in the premises of the Undergraduate Dental Clinic of the University of the Americas. In line with the objectives set a table it was made in Excel with a series of requests to thereby collect the sample and facilitate statistical analysis. The result obtained shows a high percentage of people diagnosed with Chronic Periodontitis whose maintenance protocols were not conducted in a proper way, a large percentage of erratic diagnoses and the great absence of control appointments to patients, which indicates that It should emphasize the correct filling of the clinical history in the part of periodontics. |
