Nowadays the diet of children has had several changes, has a high carbohydrate content, and intake drinks with a lot of sugar such as juice drinks and soft drinks is high. Objective: To compare and determine if there are alterations in salivary pH, plaque index, the rate of tooth decay in children with different socioeconomic status and eating habits. Results: shows that there is significant difference between the two groups of students in the initial pH, Ph after 5 minutes, the pH after 10 minutes and the pH after 20 minutes, being in the group of school children an altered most significant pH which is related to the quality of diet eaten. For the final pH that is 40 minutes, there is no big difference between the two groups since most children achieved restore the salivary pH, but in the group of school children half of children came to restore the pH, while in the founding group most children, except 3, pH restored after 40 minutes In the analysis of plaque index can be seen that there exists difference between the index plate both groups, the group has the greatest foundation plaque index. In the analysis of caries rate, it is clear that there other differences between the ICDAS of both groups, the group of children of the foundation have an advanced level of ICDAS; ell group of school children had the most children a level ICDAS healthy. ICDAS in analysis and the type of diet can be seen that there exists a significant correlation. Despite what you might believe, this correlation is negative, that is, a cariogenic diet causes less than a non-cariogenic ICDAS. This can be seen in WSS college students, where several eating a cariogenic diet but ICDAS is lower than found in the foundation. This inverse relationship can be caused by some other factor that may be hygiene and socioeconomic status. In the analysis of grams of sugar in the diet to as many grams of sugar diet it tends to be cariogenic. Conclusions: We obtained as conclusions that the correlation between socioeconomic status and the rate of decay. The cariogenic diet had no influence with the rate of decay since the college where a cariogenic diet consumed caries rate was low while the foundation was ingested balanced diet had a high ICDAS. The plaque index was higher in the foundation and this is related to oral hygiene. And the pH had a greater drop in school since the diet was high in sugar, the sugar consumption in grams at school was much higher in relation to the foundation. The pH of children of the foundation is restored in less time relative to the pH of the school children.en
