Descripción : Ecuadors geographical location allows the production of roses of excellent quality and unique features, as well as the best fine cocoa. The following project details the creation of the company SisaChoc, which fuses these two products to produce an Ecuadorian candy, made by craftsmen, that is innovative and organic. Ecuadorian sweetmeat industry has benefited from the imports restriction, which in Resolution 001 issued by the Copci imposes a 45% rate surcharge to chocolates, sweets, candies coming into the country (COMEX, 2015). In other words, as prices of imported candies are higher, Ecuadorian consumers may choose domestic products. The target market of the project are men and women between ages 25 to 59 living in the Metropolitan District of Quito, and whose socioeconomic levels are medium-high and high. They may be willing to consume a product that is not only delicious but is also beneficial to their health since roses and chocolate are organic products. SisaChoc focuses on product distribution to formal events. For this reason, the company works with a wedding planner. Furthermore, the product is also an excellent gift option for any occasion. For both purposes the company offers two presentations: a box of 30 chocolate-covered petals with a cost of USD 7.50 and a box of 60 units for USD 15. The capital the company needs to start the project is 15.353,30 dollars. This sum consists of USD 10.353,30 of own capital and the remaining USD 5,000 will be financed through a credit on Banco del Pacífico at an interest rate of 11, 23%. The financial investigation carried out for the project gets a VAN of USD 7.699, 19 and a TIR of 23%, which means that the project is profitable for any investor.
