Descripción : At the present day, the consumers have become increasingly selective and frequently research on any product they buy as they may obtain more information about its origin and development through the Internet. That is how a new trend of production of organic-ecological products began to emerge. These do not carry any chemical residue, have been endorsed by scientists and are more adequate for human consumption. Following the new trend of the market and seeing the benefits experienced in the developing countries it is decided to establish the organization “Eco Lácteos Cia. Ltda.” which will be responsible for providing the Quito market with a type of cow milk that contributes to the environment and also is being organic. To archive this, the organization changed the production processes of milk at the farm introducing natural food and chemical-free pasture. The location selected for this kind of production is the village of San Miguel de los Bancos in the Pichincha province. Regarding the initial distribution, the business is focused on the North of Quito, Cumbayá, Tumbaco and Sangolquí where the potential customers live. Of these selected sites the intention is to reach those people belonging to the economically active population, which are between 25 and 59 years old, and belong to the socioeconomic strata A, B and C+. The main source of income of the company is the sale of milk but there is a huge potential for growth selling its derivatives. To carry out the implementation of this business a total investment of $282.999,19 is needed, which is divided into $178.255,00 of fixed assets, $8.912,75 of incidentals and $95.831,44 of Net Working Capital. According to the financial statements projected to five years, this project provides a net present value (NPV) of $103.516,37 using a leverage expected scenario and a discount rate of 10,12%. Further the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is expected to be 27%.
