Descripción : In 2010, Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism launches its international campaign “Ecuador Ama la Vida”. Since then, there has been disposing in shelves around the world products made in Ecuador, looking forward to sell the biodiversity of the country. Gri Publicidad is one of the private companies of textiles that due to its technology, got the official license of use of Marca País. The company, in its search to innovate in every process, looks forward to sell products that can not only sell abroad, but also in local market, positioning itself with a fresh and contemporary product that sells the country in a original way. Thanks to technology advances, the textil industry has been evolving since it’s creative metods to present a garment, to the way that it has been made. Since designers develop their work in a digital media, they can take advantages in exploring and creating without limitations of how its piece will be printed. Sublimated impression en textiles, is an oportunity to desing fabric: now the repetition of patters and separation of colors can be decided within a screen. Designers are able to manipulate with how many colors and details they want to. The more stylized and functional the design is, the more the application will be able to expand itself: from personalized articles, to backpacks, shoes, interior design and even furniture. Programs like Photoshop and Illustrator are ideal platforms for manufacturing images to sublimate. These have been converted into standard tools for textile design, offering liberty to work with bitmaps/vectors, art manipulation, collages, painting, photography; and generating details and graphic effects. These is how this graphic proposal, offers in a ludic and conceptual way, iconography and representations of Ecuador in a contemporary way. Since there are so many variables that define a mega diverse country, the starting point has been Ecuadorian crafts, which is an activity that steel remains and besides attracting tourism, has history and tradition depending in the region and the material. The pastiche, animal personification, repetition of patterns, manipulation of photography, surrealism and rescue of hand made drawing; takes relevance in this project in which we Ecuadorians, appropriate our own way our identity: a celebration to biodiversity, globalization and acculturation.
