Descripción : Pollutant removal by constructed wetlands has been used worldwide thanks to its low energy consumption and the favorable results obtained in the various studies. The present study objectives were to remove residual water pollution arising from the extraction of palm oil. Characterize the water by a physical-chemical analysis, design the constructed wetlands with the model K-C and evaluate the efficiency between the installed systems. Pollutant removal will be discussed by the development of two constructed wetlands implemented systems: Surface flow constructed wetlands and vertical flow constructed wetlands. The results will be compared to a wetland witness. For the sizing of the seven constructed wetlands the non-mechanistic model K-C will be used, this design allows the entry of an adequate wastewater to avoid saturating the system, also an ANOVA was developed to determine the treatments were favorable. At the end of the experimental period, the study showed favorable results for the parameters analyzed, concluding that constructed wetlands permit the removal of high organic loads in wastewater, and the installation of this systems can be an alternative to reduce energy costs and to provide the conservation of the environment as clean technology.
