Descripción : The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the presence of macro traumatism in the temporomandibular joint in boxers from Pichincha´s sport federation via clinic diagnostic through a study of an observational descriptive type, transverse. Which involved 41 boxers from the federation that participated, 24.4 percent were female and 75.6 percent were male. 27 of the 41 (65.9 percent), have practice this sport no more than 2 years, 9 of 41(22.4 percent), are from 3 to 4 years old and the 5 remaining(12.2 percent), have practiced this sport for 5 years or more. 32 boxers practice through 1 to 2 hours daily which represents the 78 percent, 9 practice from 3 to 4 hours daily representing the 19.5 percent and just one practice for 5 hours daily that represents the 2.5 percent. The higher prevalence in male than female, also those boxers who spend more time on this sport have more signs and symptoms, but does not depend on the hours of training boxers engaged him is evident. Therefore the symptons and signs that have prevail more are noise or click, pain in the ATM and some difficult in the opening and closing.
