Descripción : This research began its process with the objective of evaluating the existence of family issues and the early habit of drinking alcohol, using a systemic perspective that allows a global vision of the different aspects of this study, relating one another using this tool. This study took place in a rural high school in the city of Ibarra, where the adolescent’s parent’s consent was necessary in order to work with the students. This allowed using the test called AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) to the 399 teenagers from 12 to 15 years in order to measure their alcohol consume, showing a result of 22 teenagers having a serious problem with this disorder, this was confirmed with a personal interview with each of the 22 cases, where 6 students were in fact consuming alcohol in a damaging matter, as an objective of this study their families were evaluated with questions using the test APGAR. This research allowed to evaluate and describe the relationship between the family conflicts and the early use of alcohol in adolescence, the family structure, based on rigid limits, lack of communication, distance in the family household and emotional coldness were all negative in order to solve conflicts and contain teenagers throughout their needs. While alcohol abuse of teenagers sums up their family issues, stabilizing the family function in their development stage while maintaining their qualities and characteristics. In other words, this damaging abuse which is a risk in their conduct, doesn’t bring any change of its family behavior, to the contrary assumes a negative a neutral conduct, more the less to the standstill development.
