| Descripción : | Background: Pain, swelling and decreased mouth opening are common post-operative complications associated with the extraction of third molars. These complications are associated with slower recovery times. Objective: To analyze the effects of early application of facial Manual Lymphatic Drainage method Vodder as adjuvant for post-operative third molar surgery. Materials and Methods: 30 patients were enrolled in the study, divided into two groups (15 patients experimental group “EG” aged 17 to 26 years and 15 patients control group “CG”). In both groups, they were evaluated the pain with visual analog scale (cm), edema with a tape measure (cm) and the mouth opening with a millimeter ruler (mm) before and after surgery, on the third; and fifth postoperative day. At EG was applied treatment DLM “Vodder”, 5 sessions lasting 30 minutes, while the CG received no treatment… |
