Descripción : This investigation tries to explain the influence of the “first word” taken as love or no love and its influence on initial education. In order to accomplish this, receptive language of Gardner figure-word test was applied in two pre-schools located in Quito. GH-1 pre-school was chosen because of their openness to apply the test to children. Unfortunately, the number of children that belong in the previously described inclusive criteria, was not big enough, for this reason Macarena pre-school was also considered. The results obtained by the test were tabulated under standardized parameters established in the test. From the 100% of the population 83% present a delay in the development of comprehensive language, which will generate learning problems in schooling age. Additionally, the importance of maternal and paternal role within the formation of the first word and its influence in the normal development of the comprehensive language was observed. It is also possible to demonstrate that these roles cannot be replaced by other members of the family and that family context plays a fundamental role within the process of acquisition and formation of concepts…
