According to INEC (Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos) a lot of Ecuadorian families still do not have access to clean drinking water. Many people are force to walk many kilometers in order to obtain this very valuable, indispensable and vital resource. Due to an excessive population growth and the unfair distribution of land among its habitants, has caused an unequal distribution of water affecting their life quality. Because of the above circumstances there is a new proposition that ensures and guarantees the sustainability of water resources for the benefit of the community. The design and construction of prototypes to capture fog, constitute an alternative solution that could help communities to benefit from water resources. The methodology that was used to collect atmospheric water was performed daily during three months in San Miguel de Nono as well as in Gonzalez Suarez in Quito obtaining good results for each design in each one of them. 900 milliliters per design It is consider a good water collection, if we take this design to bigger scales a greater water requirement would be satisfied. To give an example a 1 m2 frame will collect 1000 milliliters in one day and a 40 m2 frame will collect 40 000 milliliters. However, prototype 3 had better results due to its material and design 3 placed in Quito, had a maximum recollection of 3200 milliliters per day. We conclude that the use of appropriate materials and design along with the characteristics of the zone would help to obtain excellent results because of the presence of the phenomenon of fog in the area.en
