Descripción : The following job consists in the development of a business plan for the creation of a Pre-Paid Medicine company, “Bienestar Medicina Pre-Pagada”, which will design and sell corporate plans of medical coverage. According to the Superintendence of Companies, until 2010, which is the last year that records information, the market for Prepaid Medicine, registered a growth of 11 % over the previous year, identifying companies that show a marked leadership in this market. The results of the market research that was made for this study show that the 34% of the respondents do not have any medical coverage, and of these people, the 84% are willing to hire a Pre-Paid Medicine service. The Company, using marketing strategies, will focus on the most attended needs and the main complaints that customers feel from the other Prepaid Medicine companies, considering the information that the market research will give. To start the business, the company must create agreements with other centers that provide health services at three levels, as well as pharmacies, ambulances and special agreements that give added value to the service. This service provided to costumers is considered the most important point, in order to strengthen and increase the marketing of plans through insurance brokers. Bienestar Medicina Prepagada S.A. also must perform an optimal selection and hiring of employees in order to have a qualified team, formed by people who work systemically, making efforts to provide an efficient customer service. Bienestar Medicina Pre-Pagada S.A. signed a pre-agreement with the insurance company “Aseguradora del Sur C.A.”, which will acquire 25% stake in Bienestar Medicina Prepagada S.A., and will transfer eleven thousand initial clients to Bienestar Medicina Prepagada S.A. Making a financial analysis, considering its normal leveraged condition, and a deleveraged condition as well, the company has an IRR of 126.51% and 129.82%% and a NPV of USD 1´268.444,00 and USD 1´222.069,00 respectively, driving the cost of accidents by 70% for both scenarios. The initial investment will cost USD 266.424,00 considering tangible and intangible assets. This analysis indicates that this is a profitable business, since it yields profits from the first year. Finally, it should be mentioned that the research made along this work demonstrates that this business is viable and profitable for the shareholders, because the internal rate of return (IRR) is higher than the discount rate considering a leveraged and deleveraged normal condition. Furthermore, the net present value (NPV) is 985.706,00 in a leveraged normal situation and 1´017.589,00 deleveraged normal condition.
