| dc.description | The Virtual Library system, addressed in the present title work, was conceived mainly with the aim of improving the quality of service to the user of a library in general and of the University of the Americas in particular, providing it with services capable of satisfying the needs of the most demanding users when managing the loan of their existing copies. As a result of the project, it is now possible to have a computer tool that allows searches and online bibliographic reservations, thus expanding the possibilities of users to access updated information whenever and wherever it is required. of this work, is intended to encourage people and organizations in general, the adoption and implementation of a virtual library system that is capable of covering bibliographic information from various sources (institutions), and simultaneously, thereby obtaining a large amount of information available to the general public. It is expected, finally, that the contribution of the thesis in the field of software engineering, is reflected in the correct visualization of how the processes to be automated should be defined and analyzed, as a result of the study of the business management model of the “ client”, in this case the library of the University of the Americas, as well as the use of resource estimation techniques, the application of design patterns and, above all, the use of formal methodologies for the construction of software systems, among others. | en |
