| dc.description | Due to the importance of corporations in the actual society, control and legislation over them is required. Especially when crimes committed through corporations cause more damage than individual crimes. This research demonstrates the importance that the Ecuadorian legal order should held corporations criminally liable for their acts. As society develops it becomes more depending on the economy, this doesnt mean that in this sector crimes arent committed. The investigation will begin by studying why was corporate criminal liability brought up, what historical events and cases made it possible and necessary. For this matter well analyze the figures and the most emblematic United States Courts judicial decisions. Also the “White Collar Crime” significance and why this name was brought up for this kind of crimes. We will expose how the individual criminal liability can be used for holding corporations liable, besides what kind of sanctions should be applied to for this kind of crimes, by analyzing the different theories that held corporations criminally liable. Well expose what kind of crimes are committed through corporations, how where they typified in different legal systems.
