Descripción : Dental occlusion refers to the relationship between the teeth in a state of repose, the reciprocity that a malocclusion has with facial profile of the person is very narrow and therefore is decided to establish the relationship between dental malocclusion as rated by Angle and lateral facial biotype profile by using photographic record of the soft tissue analysis of Legan and Burstone in adolescents of both sexes who are in their Sophomore Year at COTAC High School in Quito. Through an study, a sample of 72 students from 14 to 16 years were analyzed; after evaluating the molar relationship, 35 male individuals were obtained for Class I (48.61%) for the Class II 6 (8.33%) and Class III 9 (12.5%) were obtained; on the other hand were obtained 17 female Class I (23.61%), 4 Class II (5.55%) and 1 Class III (1.38%). Regarding to the type of facial profile the 41.7% has a straight profile, the same value was obtained for the convex profile, and while for concave profile corresponds to 16.7%.
