Dental fluorosis is a dental disorder in which you can see dental pieces pigmented and is characterized by a hypomineralization and hypermineralization, which occurs during the period of tooth formation, in response to excessive consumption of fluoride. With the presence of dental fluorosis, the enamel can become brittle and can lead to the appearance of dental caries, which is a pathology of infectious origin that causes destruction of dental tissues, due to the influence of various microorganisms on the carbohydrates ingested in the daily diet. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of dental caries and fluorosis relation in school-age children attending to the catechesis school of the Church of the parish of Guayllabamba. For this we studied 135 boys and girls who met the inclusion criteria, which held a clinical review and determined if they were or not decay or fluorosis, as well as in turn discussed Dean index levels and levels of DMFT index. Statistic was used to obtain the results and found that the prevalence of dental caries was 80.7 porcent and the prevalence of dental fluorosis was 62.2 porcent, it was found that there is no relationship between the presence of caries and dental fluorosis. In addition it was found that for men and women, the aged 7 to 9 years old were those with higher levels of Dean index and of DMFT index, it was found that there is a positive correlation between high levels of Dean index and of DMFT index. With these findings, we can concluded that there is a very serious public health problem in Guayllabamba, which may be due to several factors including lack of knowledge about the problems which are being affected and also the lack of oral hygiene. It should take up the matter to stop health problems in this population.en
