Resumen : El presente trabajo investigativo se halla conformado por dos partes fundamentales que son: la investigación descriptiva y la exploratoria...
Descripción : This research project was made up of two fundamental parts, the descriptive investigation and the exploratory inquiry. In the first chapter, we will review the historical background, the development of the concept and the definition of burn-out, also some explanatory models of this affliction, in addition to this we will make a brief analysis of the concept of stress to help complement this study. In the second chapter we will determine the triggering agents that cause the syndrome to appear, as it was mentioned in the previous chapter, it emerges due to multiple reasons producing harmful effects physiologically, psychologically, sociologically and in the occupational area. The third chapter addresses the prevention strategies that can help avoid the apparition of this condition, and the fundamental roll that social support links play. The fourth chapter contains an analysis of the data collected, and the results found are expressed in graphics and illustrative tables that include percentages and respective figures established through the research. Finally we make a qualitative reflection of each graphic and the most relevant correlations and percentages. The objective of this research was to conduct a descriptive analysis of the exhaustion levels due to work and examine possible psychosocial effects of burn-out syndrome in the faculty members of the clinical psychology department at the University of the Americas. Thanks to the data collected, we can conclude that the profession does not imply risks, since we found that all the participants achieved a high level of personal accomplishment in part due to the fulfillments they have obtained in their career.
