Descripción : This work focused on research on the development of mobile journalism-now-in Ecuador, with reference to the mobile versions of newspaper HOY and El Comercio, through interviewing the reporters and executives, expert analysis, and the results of surveys on the use of smartphones and mobile Internet as a means of access to news, made the target audience. After analyzing the historical evolution of the cellular and Internet penetration in society, we can say (and taking into account the opinion of experts and theorists like Manuel Castells) that this technology is part of the daily life of individuals several aspects, one of them access to news information (via mobile internet). The analysis performed on the mobile sites of El Comercio and HOY based on previous research was conducted by experts in Digital Journalism, including professors of the University Complutense of Madrid and Valencia Cardenal Herrera. Addition, we used the text reading Digital Journalism author Luis A. Albornoz, which once served as the reference for determining the characteristics and parameters to be assessed in each information page for mobile phones. One of the main issues to highlight the work done is that in both cases the people at the forefront of online media have realized the importance of new media access to news information and, in turn, are passing this thought other journalists environment to use these new tools in their usual way of doing journalism. Currently, only El Comercio has a specific application of your media to the phone (BlackBerry), but in both cases these mobile sites are just an adaptation of the website to make it easier and faster user access to the media through the cell, they are updated automatically by updating the website. In general, we can say that the Ecuadorian media are coupled by little advances in information access technology, according to current trends, as in this case, cell phones as media access and production information. Thus, its reporters have ventured into the production of information with their mobile phones, using them in certain coverages or sending information relevant breaking through social networks, mostly through Twitter
