Resumen : La idea de elaborar y comercializar bolas de granola con chía nace como una alternativa sana y nutritiva frente a los cereales para el desayuno y snacks a base de cereales disponibles en el mercado. El producto está dirigido a niños entre 5 y 14 años en la Ciudad de Quito, que pertenezcan al nivel socioeconómico A o B y se encuentren en algún nivel de Educación General Básica (E.G.B) en centros educativos particulares que cuenten con cafeterías y bares y la pensión mensual sea superior a los USD 350. WholeLife S.A. es el nombre de la empresa que elaborará las bolas de granola con chía.Chia Chops es la marca del producto y satisfará las necesidades que buscan las madres en un cereal para sus niños. Es el único producto que posee semillas de chía dentro de la categoría de los cereales en el mercado local, es de alto valor biológico (contiene los 10 aminoácidos esenciales), 100 por ciento natural y se lo comercializará en forma de bocadito (snack). Chia Chops tiene ventaja competitiva de diferenciación dentro de ciertas etapas de la cadena de valor, empezando con la selección de materias primas e ingredientes de alta calidad, en especial de las semillas de chía, que harán de este cereal un producto diferenciado por su alto contenido nutricional. La estructura organizacional ha sido diseñada en base a lo que se conoce como Estrategia de Diferenciación Dirigida. El Gerente General estará a la cabeza de todo el personal, y contará con un Community Manager, un Asistente Comercial, un Jefe de Producción y 2 operarios. EL monto requerido de inversión inicial para este proyecto es de USD 297,584.39.
Descripción : The idea of developing and marketing granola balls with chia comes as a truly healthy and nutritious alternative as compared with other breakfast cereals and cereal-based snacks available. This cereal is targeted to children between 5 and 14 years old in the city of Quito, who belong to the socioeconomic level A or B, who attend theBasic General Education (EGB) levels in schools with extensive sports facilities, cafeterias and bars and a monthly tuition over USD 350. Whole Life S.A. is the name of the company to make granola balls with chia seeds. Chia Chops is the brand name for the granola balls with chia, and is a food rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins, aimed at meeting the needs of mothers who seeka good cereal for their children. It is the only cereal that has chia within the category of cereals in the local market, it is of a high biological value (contains all 10 essential amino acids), 100% natural, to be sold as snack. Chia Chops has a competitive advantage in product differentiationin steps of the product value chain, starting with the selection of raw materials and high quality ingredients, especially chia seeds, which will make this cereal differentiated by its highly nutritional content. The organizational structure has been designed on the basis of Directed Differentiation Strategy. The General Manager will be the staff leader and chair the company; the staff members will be the Community Manager, the Commercial Assistant, the Chief of Production and 2 operators. The required amount of initial investment for this project is USD 297,584.39; of this, 66% will be funded by the National Finance Corporation (CFN, for its initials in Spanish) at an interest rate of 11.5% per year at 7 years, while the remaining 34% will be equity. The company has three shareholders, one of them will bring the land for construction of the plant. The business is profitable in the base case scenario, in the upside case and downside case scenarios, with a discount rate or weighted average cost of capital (WACC) of 14.39%.
