| dc.description | This degree work aims to demonstrate that the Ecuadorian State, by taking Advisory Opinion number 24 of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights as binding, establishes the path to give way to homoparental adoption. The first chapter will define who are children and adolescents, with a brief historical review of the adult-centric perception years before the arrival of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The second chapter will address adoption as a means to guarantee the effective enjoyment of the rights of children and adolescents (hereinafter NNA) deprived of a family environment. It will conceptualize the family and its types, among which the homoparental family will stand out. The third final chapter is based on the international recognition of homoparental families, showing that they must be protected by the State and not discriminated against when they are considered for the adoption process of children and adolescents. | en |
