Resumen : La minería es una de las actividades antropogénicas que se ha mostrado como un motor importante de la economía de diferentes países contribuyendo en su PIB nacional y a la generación de puestos de trabajo...
Descripción : Mining is one of the anthropogenic activities that has been shown to be an important engine of the economy of different countries, contributing to its national GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and the generation of jobs (Banco Mundial, 2013); however, it is also classified as an activity with high impact on the environment by the different pollutants it generates towards the environment, additionally creating political and social problems. (Ayala et al., 2019) One of the biggest concerns is the contamination caused by heavy metals released by this activity. The objective of thisbibliographic review is to know the effects of heavy metals derived from mining on soil microorganisms. The study focused on the compilation, reading, selection and discrimination of various bibliographic resources such as: scientific articles, books, documents, news, among others; in order to analyze the range of pollutants derived from mining activities, especially heavy metals, understand their environmental effects and on the dynamics of edaphic biodiversity. In accordance with the analysis of bibliographic information, we can conclude that heavy metals derived from mining exert effects on microorganisms in its population dynamics, biodiversity and structure, which can be presented as: alterations in microbial interactions with heavy metals that lead to transformation of the pollutant, bioaccumulation processes, biomagnification, as well as the development of resistance and tolerance mechanisms, which constitute qualities important for its use in the biological treatment of contaminated environmental matrixes.
