Resumen : La privación de libertad expone grandes problemas comportamentales en los animales que se encuentran alrededor de los zoológicos del mundo...
Descripción : The deprivation of liberty exposes such a big behavioral problem in animals that are around zoos in the world. The implementation of environmental enrichment is ideal for safeguarding the animal welfare on specialized wildlife centers. For that reason, the present systematic review was carried out in order to select data that allows to raise a proposal of environmental enrichment in ocelots (Leopardus pardalis), allowing them to encourage physical activity and decrease stereotypes or avoid having them. In this case the PRISMA methodology was used, mainly based on ScienceDirect, ACADEMIA, ZSL online library as databases used, also a highly relevant documents published from 2005 were selected. On first instance, 55 articles were selected which with the application of inclusion criteria and PRISMA filters 34 were discarded, giving a total of 21 articles approved and revised. Regarding results obtained, it is known that during the period of 2011 to 2015 exist more quantity of studies about behavior made in zoo animals, it was also identified that the most studied species were other felids such as Leopardus pardalis. On the other hand, the age of the studied individuals was evaluated, as it is an important factor for the application of environmental enrichment, for what was known the most studied are animals from 1 month to 5 years and 6 to 10 years. In addition, it was shown that the most used environmental enrichments in felids are of a sensory nature and second those of a cognitive and alimentary type, being Latin America the most studied area. Finally, the most widely used methodology identified was that in which used an observation phase, an enrichment phase and an evaluation phase.
