Descripción : One of the main problems in beef farming is lactational anestrus in cows with calf at the foot. Temporary weaning is a method capable of stopping the anestrus allowing the cows to cycle again. For this reason, the objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the reproductive effect caused by temporary weaning without the use of hormones, in lactating anéstric cows, to verify the reactivation of the estrous cycle, presentation of the first postpartum heat and presentation time of first heat after separating the young. Information was collected from the databases: ScienceDirect, Microsoft Academic, Virtual Health Library and Google Scholar. Only articles published in the last 30 years in the American continent were used, which have applied temporary weaning without the use of hormones in lactation anéstric cows 2 to 5 months after calving. A total of 387 articles were obtained, of which 378 were discarded because they did not meet all the proposed inclusion criteria. At the end, the results of 9 articles that apply temporary weaning for 48, 72, 96 and 120 hours were evaluated. To analyze the relationship between temporary weaning and the presence of heat, the chi square test was used, finding a relationship between the variables. It was found that temporary weaning provides a greater number of animals presenting in heat, the DT group has a rate of 57.1 percent (117 of 205 animals) while the control group only achieved 21.4 percent (43 of 201 animals). In conclusion, temporary weaning allows to reactivate the estrous cycle in lactating anéstric cows, weaning for 96 hours is the most effective, obtaining heat presentation of 68 percent (23 of 34 animals) and 51 percent (26 of 51 animals) within the first 30 days after weaning.
