Descripción : From 1993 to 2020, the women of Juárez consistently died after a wave of femicides directly caused by the violence generated by drug trafficking. In these circumstances, a specific form of discriminatory treatment manifested in the disinterest of public authorities to investigate and prosecute those responsible for these crimes. Can femicides in Juárez be attributed to violence and human insecurity caused by illegal drug trafficking? This thesis report proposes the study of eleven cases of femicide in Juárez during the aforementioned period of time. It will be verified whether institutional violence and drug trafficking are part of the origin of the violence or not, human insecurity and the deaths perpetrated against women for the fact that they are. Keywords: feminicide, drug trafficking, Ciudad Juárez, human security, institutional violence.
