| Descripción : | The European continent has been one of the global areas most affected by the terrorist violence recorded since the last century; however, since the increase in migration flows in 2015, due to the conflicts in the Middle East, the assumption that these violent acts are related to the presence of foreigners in the territory has been constantly entrenched. The European Union, a supranational body that represents a large part of the countries in the area, has adopted a series of security measures to mitigate the violence caused by extremists; many of these, meaning an attack on the rights of migrants, mainly those from the Middle East. Under this aspect, it is necessary to determine if all the measures adopted respond to a logic of securitization of the phenomenon of migration; that is to say, the inclusion of this within the security agenda of the region and very particularly of the organization. The purpose of this research is to determine if the phenomenon of migration was securitized due to an alleged relationship with the terrorist attacks registered in the area during 2015 and 2016, those that were mostly perpetrated by followers of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS for its acronym in English). |
