Resumen : En este estudio se realizó la evaluación experimental del potencial de producción de biogás a partir de hígados decomisados...
Descripción : This study conducted the experimental evaluation of the potential for biogas production from seized livers. These viscera were used because they are waste from the bovine slaughterhouse, the final disposal is incineration and there is no use of them, for that reason it was used as a co-substrate of manure for the generation of methane through anaerobic digestion. The experimentation was performed with three treatments containing different ratios of Manure: Liver M:1L, 1M:2L, 1.5M:1L and a target with a ratio of Manure: Water 1M: 1W. To quantify the methane of the treatments, the volumetric displacement technique was used with an alkaline solution of NaOH 2M. The treatments had an anaerobic digestion process of 25 days at a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. After experimentation with treatments, a test was performed with the ratio that generated the most methane, in order to know the composition of CH4 in biogas. Two milligascounter connected to a gas cleaning bottle were used for the quantification of methane in biogas. The best treatment was found to be the ratio of 1M:2L, which produced an average of 1069.20 ml of methane average methane yield of 90.92 L/Kg of Sv, under normal conditions. In addition, a higher percentage of organic matter removal than the other treatments. In conclusion, seized livers can be used for the generation of biogas and methane.
