| dc.description | Having an integral view of the patient is an element that involves professionalism by the dentist. The application of the proposed instrument can generate a better appreciation of the quality of work in patients because this one is easy to intervene in time and shows important information. The present research aimed to evaluate the quality of life in patients who were under rehabilitation treatments with fixed prostheses in the anterior sector of the oral cavity. The study had a universe of 140 patients whose information was registered in the medical records and those ones who received oral rehabilitation treatments in the postgraduate clinic of the Universidad de las Americas. 103 patients were chosen by a simple random sampling. The type of study was descriptive, transversal and retrospective. Patients were asked for informed consent, as well as the OHIP-14 questionnaire adapted with two additional dimensions was applied in order to determine the parameters on quality of life. The significance value was less than 0.05 (p = 0.00), therefore it was determined that the quality of life was improved in a reasonable percentage after the oral rehabilitation treatments were performed. | en |
