Descripción : The following study is an improvement proposal of the production process of the toilets line throughout quality control in the company Edesa S.A. Numerous quality tools were used to determine where the defects of the model were being generated and what their causes were. The study begins with an analysis of the current situation of the company by gathering information and understanding each part of the production process of one of the models with the highest demand, using tools such as process map, flowcharts, process characterizations and process descriptions. During this part, all the necessary information was gathered to be able to build the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and to perform a simulation of the process. By observing the production process and using control sheets and Pareto diagrams, it was possible to find and quantify the defects generated along the production line. These tools also helped determine which were the most critical defects that needed to be solved. Ishikawa diagrams were used to analyze the root causes of the most critical defects and quality tools and methods were proposed to attack them. It was proposed to change a tool used in a process to reduce one of the critical defects, increasing the number of finished products. In addition, several controls were proposed throughout the process to keep the environment and raw materials under control in order to eliminate the variability that causes defects. Finally, with the help of a new simulation, an analysis of the impact that these improvements will generate was made. The current results were compared with those obtained from the implementation of the improvements and, after an economic analysis that verifies the viability of the proposals, the line would increase approximately 250 units per month.
