Descripción : The main objective of this business plan is to determine the feasibility of creating a company that produces and exports gluten-free cookies made from chocho (tarwi) and dark chocolate from Ecuador to Santiago de Chile. This project idea was born with the purpose of covering an unmet need of celiac people living in Santiago, which is to consume products that do not contain gluten, without sacrificing the intake of nutrients that allows them to preserve a healthy diet. Currently, in the Chilean market there is a certain variety of foods without gluten; nevertheless, these lack essential nutrients; which causes a deterioration in the health of individuals who are diagnosed with celiac disease. For this particular reason, potential consumers perceive a high added value in the cookies of the present business plan in comparison with their existing substitutes. The selection of the destination market was made considering that Ecuador and Chile possess an Economic Complementation Agreement, therefore, the product would enter this country without paying any tariffs; In addition, the gluten-free products industry in Chile shows a high growth in recent years. In the first place, an analysis of the internal and external environment was carried out, through which the opportunities and threats that would affect the business were identified; hence, strategies are proposed to take advantage of the benefits of the market and apply preventive actions to overcome the obstacles in the industry. On the other hand, qualitative and quantitative research was conducted to determine the preferences of potential consumers, also taking into account the opinion of experts in the industry, and thus, adjust the strategies detailed in the marketing plan to present a product that meets the expectations and perceptions of the market. Finally, based on the data obtained in the financial evaluation with a five-year projection, it can be concluded that the project presented is viable, since a NPV of 73.375,16 dollars is obtained, with an internal rate of return (IRR) of 27,54 percent of, superior than the WACC of 12.22 percent of; and a profitability index of 1.91.
