The objective of this degree work is to analyze the presence of temporomandibular disorders after orthodontic treatment specifically in students of Orthodontics I and II of the UDLA School of Dentistry based on the simplified anamnestic index of Fonseca. Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a collective term that encompasses a number of clinical problems that affect the masticatory muscles, the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and associated structures. It affects the young and adult population and its etiology can be multifactorial and includes trauma, immunological disorders, stress, local factors such as occlusal interferences, malocclusion, postural changes, abnormal functioning of the masticatory musculature, changes in the structure of the ATM, bruxism, or also a combination of the factors described above. Of all these, the dentist is responsible for the control of only one: occlusion, which is modified during orthodontic treatment. The Simplified Fonseca Test was carried out for a total of 163 students aged between 19 and 27 years. Questions to rule out whether they have used orthodontics before and how long the treatment ended were included in the questionnaire. As a result, 113 claimed to have used it, 9.8% indicated that one year or less, 20.9% from 2 to 4 years and 38.7% indicated that more than 5 years ago. It was found that 44.2% maintain mild disease, 29.9% have no TMD, 20.2% moderate TMD and 6.1% severe. Regarding gender, significant differences were found between men with higher percentages WITHOUT 40% TTM and in slight with 47.3%; and in women there were higher percentages in mild with 42.6%.en
