Descripción : Objectives: To evaluate the knowledge on the management of oral anticoagulants in cardiac patients undergoing dental processes, by the students of the Udla dentistry faculty during the period 2018-1 and 2018-2. Identify what type of oral anticoagulants are most used by the patient attending the Udla clinic. Analyze the type of complementary tests requested in an anticoagulated patient. Identify the preoperative and postoperative complications that occur in anticoagulated patients. Analyze the anticoagulant therapeutic regimen as part of the anticoagulant protocol. Identify the most commonly used hemostatic measures. Materials and Methods: Review and collection of data from medical records of patients diagnosed with heart disease under treatment of oral anticoagulants who underwent some dental treatment in the period 2018-1 to 2018-2, through data collection through the sheet of data collection that presents 14 criteria to evaluate. Evaluating 5000 clinical records of patients where 50 cardiac patients were identified under anticoagulant treatment, distinguishing different registered criteria that allow us to define this study. The statistical analysis and tabulation of results will be done through Excel spreadsheets of the Microsoft Office Windows program. For the validationand significance of the study, it will be carried out with the program IBM-SPSS 25 carried out during 4 weeks. Results: By tabulating the clinical histories of 50 cardiac patients under anticoagulant treatment, we obtained the statistics that allow us to describe the behavior of 13 dimensions that allow defining dental behavior, where the most frequent dental procedure is prophylaxis with 60 percent of, presenting a significance of the level of knowledge of this type of patients of 5 percent of. In this way, the different items of the clinical history are grouped in the different dimensions through the assumption that each item follows a Bernoulli process. Conclusions: Through this study it was determined that if there is no greater knowledge about the dental management of an anticoagulated patient, it can cause complications that compromise his life. It is necessary to identify the condition of the patient with cardiology to establish anticoagulation guidelines when performing dental procedures.
