Resumen : El presente trabajo de titulación es un análisis musical de cuatro grooves característicos del baterista neoyorquino de jazz fusión; Steve Gadd. En esta labor se escogió la canción de Paul Simon 50 ways to leave your lover, el estilo del samba, el mozambique y el shuffle. El trabajo de investigación incluye una narrativa acerca de la historia de cada uno de los grooves, es decir, se explora acerca de la aparición y desarrollo de los diferentes estilos musicales a nivel histórico, y cómo pudieron influenciar en la creación e interpretación del estilo de Gadd. Así mismo, la labor del análisis está basado en transcripciones de los diferentes grooves escogidos, tomando en cuenta también sus diferentes variantes. Dicho análisis se enfoca en conceptos como la articulación, el fraseo lineal, ostinatos, stickings, subdivisiones, balance y orquestación. El conocimiento de este material nos permitirá interpretar este innovador lenguaje musical desde diferentes espacios musicales y será una herramienta de inspiración para la crear una propia voz en el instrumento.
Descripción : The present degree work is a musical analysis of four characteristic grooves of the New York drummer of jazz fusion; Steve Gadd. In this work, Paul Simons song 50 ways to leave your lover, the style of samba, mozambique and shuffle was chosen. The research work includes a narrative about the history of each of the grooves. It explores the emergence and development of different musical styles at the historical level, and how they could influence the creation and interpretation of the Gadd style. Likewise, the musical analysis is based on transcriptions of the different chosen grooves, taking into account also its different variants. This analysis focuses on concepts such as articulation, linear phrasing, ostinatos, stickings, subdivisions, balance and orchestration. The knowledge of this material will allow us to interpret this innovative musical language from different musical spaces and it will be an inspiration tool to create your own voice in the instrument.
