Descripción : Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a disorder generated by an insufficiency in the neurological development that is generally linked to three factors: Genetic, environmental and psychosocial, but it is not an incapacity and they confuse the behavior of the child as indiscipline or executive dysfunction. It is defined as an alteration in brain development and has as main characteristics, the inability to sustain attention and concentration in a single task for long periods of time, cognitive insufficiency, hyperactivity and impulsivity. On several occasions, ADHD may be related to other comorbid disorders, which means that there is more than one disorder in the same patient. In Ecuador, there are 7,918 children of school age with ADHD in public schools in recent years according to the Ministry of Education. From 5 percent to 6 percent of the population of children of school age have symptoms of ADHD worldwide and 76 percent of cases are affected by genetic causes. The diagnosis of the causes that generate this disorder is a complex process, having several causes, at the beginning it is not possible to know exactly. In order to know the causes in each child, young person or adult one must go through a series of experts from different fields of neurology and psychology who jointly achieve an objective analysis in each one of the areas of development of the person. In the case of children, one of the main limitations in their development lies in the late detection of the problem and in the inattention or lack of knowledge from the parents, who in many cases do not observe carefully the behavior of the children or do not keep a constant training of cognitive and executive tasks at home.
