| Descripción : | La Mariscal neighborhood belongs to the city of Quito and is known as the center of tourist attraction and entertainment of the capital, being the one that concentrates most activities, commercial, administrative and economic uses. As a result, there is a misdistribution of the services and this has caused the massive migration of the inhabitants off the site towards valleys and peripheral places. For this reason, the Architecture Workshop AR0-960 (2018-2) analyzed urban topics such as morphology, demography, mobility, public space, uses and occupation of land, equipment and cultural patrimony. In order to solve the identified problems, an Urban Plan projected to the year 2040 was proposed, where the studied area will become a compact city model. The Center for the Elderly (CAM), was proposed in response to the lack of social welfare facilities within the sector, mainly aimed at the population over 65 years, in order to integrate this age group to urban life. In addition, the project aims to improve the life quality of older adults through integration spaces and routes that promote new experiences and enhances the physical, psychological and social improvement of these people. |
