| Descripción : | Credit in Latin American countries is used as a financing mechanism for new ventures, companies and industries, allowing the development of productive linkages in economies. In turn, the Latin American region has been characterized by maintaining a concentrated production in certain economic sectors. Therefore, this research bases its purpose on determining if there is a relationship between productive concentration, measured through the Herfindahl-Hirschman index, and the acceleration of the supply of credit in Latin America. To this end, a panel data model was used for fifteen representative economies of the region in the period 2004-2016. According to the results, the productive concentration of Latin American economies slows down the supply of credit in the region. |
