Descripción : The purpose of this business plan is to determine the viability of the production and commercialization of coconut drinks in Quito with imported containers from Peru. Initially, the reasons for the development of the Project is research are presented and an analysis is made of the environments in which important opportunities are determined, such as the growth of the beverage industry, trade agreements with Peru and changes in bad eating habits towards consumption trends of natural products. Then, the competitive advantage of the product is exposed. It is shown as a coconut drink that serves more as a natural rehydration beverage with a higher content of nutrients, vitamins and minerals, than a commercial isotonic drink. The target market is aimed at men and women between 2 and 65 years old in the city of Quito with high and medium-high socio-economic levels with consumption trends of natural products resulting in 80,626 people. The quantitative and qualitative research is analyzed where an optimal price of $ 1.74 is determined, the places of sale as local, self-service stores, gymnasiums and advertising expenses according to 10% of monthly sales. The marketing strategy to use is focused on a promotion based on offers, discounts and sports competitions. Finally, the units to be sold are 4165 monthly and the import of ergonomic plastic containers from Peru will be made quarterly under the FOB business term. The initial investment required for the project is $ 50,315.00 financed 50% of own capital and 50% of debt at an annual interest of 11.57% for 5 years. Given the valuation criteria and financial indices, the project is determined viable with a period of recovery of the investment of 2 years.
