This thesis investigates reviews and analyzes the techniques of musical production of the Djent metal style, and adapts and applies them in two unpublished themes created by the author of this work. Djent is an onomatopoeia that represents the sound of the guitars produced by a way of executing them and the tones used by the band Meshuggah, particularly by its guitarist, Frederik Thordendal. In addition, the term refers to a style derived from variants of progressive metal as well as to the artistic musical scene developed by this genre. Low tunings, bends of low strings, palm muting, polyrhythms and syncopes characterize Djent technically and rhythmically. This thesis has two main components, the theoretical research and analysis and the musical production. After a historical review of the origin of Djent, its evolution, the major influences for its development and its impact on the independent music scene, the sonorous characteristics of this style and the instrumentation are detailed. Additionally, the work delves into the analysis of Djent style production, recording and mixing techniques through an exhaustive study of different methods and tools. The two unpublished themes created for this thesis are the basis to illustrate and give practical support to the adaptation and application of the production techniques, methods and tools, detailing the phases of composition, development of definitive sounds, tracking planning including that of guitars and vocals, editing, recording and mixing. The two unpublished themes are also proposed to nurture the Djent style repertoire in Ecuador. Therefore, this work not only aims to expand the understanding and visibility of a musical style that is not yet very developed in Ecuador and contributes to its growth. It also helps to deepen the understanding of the necessary approaches and tools to encourage high quality independent production in the search for modern metal sound in the country. For the development of the Djent style it is necessary to combine different aspects, elements and actors of the musical scene to consolidate an independent and competitive industry.en
