The objective of this research is to evaluate the level of sexual satisfaction in patients, treated at the Policía Nacional Quito N. 1 hospital, who have suffered a traumatic brain injury; TBI in comparison with the control group. It has a quantitative approach, a descriptive and exploratory scope, and a nonexperimental design. The study will be carried out at the Policía Nacional Quito N. 1 hospital. The sample includes 60 participants, men and women between the ages of 18 and 65. Out of these, 30 healthy subjects will be assigned to the control group, one for each patient with TBI matched by age and gender, and 30 patients who have presented a TBI from three months or more at the time of evaluation will be assigned to the clinical group. As for the data collection tools, three questionnaires will be used; the Couple Satisfaction Scale; ESP/10, the Sexual Subjective Satisfaction Scale; ESSS and a structured sociodemographic questionnaire created by the author. It is expected that the three questionnaires will be carried out in a single session, during a period of 45 to 60 minutes, individually in one of the Mental Health offices of the Policía Nacional hospital. Once the data is collected, it will be analyzed with the Statical Package for Social Sciences. Additionally, the t student test will be used to evaluate if there are differences between the groups in relation to their sociodemographic characteristics. If there are no significant differences in this variable, we will proceed to compare the total results of the two scales with the t student test. If there are significant differences in the sociodemographic characteristics between the groups, the analysis of covariance; ANCOVA will be used to finally proceed to accept or reject the proposed hypothesis.en
