Descripción : Traumatic brain injury; TBI is a silent epidemic because it is a public health problem that is underestimated. TBI is a common and disabling pathology because it affects different areas of the individual. One of these is sexuality, which is an essential part of being human. This paper focuses on comparing the sexual quality of life in TBI patients with a control group. The TBI patients will be recruited from the neurosurgery service in the Eugenio Espejo Hospital between 2018 and 2019. This investigation has a quantitative focus, correlational and exploratory reach and likewise a nonexperimental design. The sample includes 60 participants between 18 and 65 years old, half of which will be patients with a TBI and the other half the control group; healthy people. Both of them will be matched by sex and age. Two questionnaires will be applied as data collection instruments; 1. Sexual Quality of Life Female; SQOL/F questionnaire and Sexual Quality of Life / Male ; SQOL/M questionnaire and 2. Sociodemographic questionnaire created by the author. Once the data is collected it will be analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Descriptive statistics will be used to characterize the sample and the t student test to determine the differences between both groups. The results will provide information about TBI and the sexual quality of life level in our national context, which should inform the development of specific interventions and/or rehab plans for this group. In conclusion, this work has shown that it is important to take into account the field of sexuality after suffering a TBI, as it has a general impact on the quality of life of the subject. In addition, this research aims to contribute to the knowledge of this topic to promote more specialized action plans.2020-01-01T00:00:00ZEstilos de afrontamiento de servidores policiales en los niveles de formación profesional

Autor : Vivanco Gonzaga, Pamela Vanessa
Descripción : The objective of this study is to compare the coping styles of police officers at different levels of professional training at the General Alberto Enríquez Gallo Police School. The aim is to know and compare the variables proposed above; this research has a quantitative focus, the design is non-experimental of a transversal type and the scope is descriptive-correlational. The sample of 300 participants is comprised of 75 students of each level of professional training, of whom 63 are men and 12 women. Sampling will be non-probabilistic for convenience. The Stress Coping Questionnaire (Sandín and Chorot, 2003; adapted by López Aballay, 2013) will be applied, with which the seven basic dimensions corresponding to coping will be evaluated. These variables will be analyzed through a statistical analysis, and I will also use a chi-square to fulfill my general objective in order to compare the two variables. This research will identify which are the most adaptive coping styles that police officers can use to obtain a higher probability of completing their education.2020-01-01T00:00:00ZPuntos de corte clínico de trail making test en población ecuatoriana diagnosticada con esquizofrenia

Descripción : This study aims to identify the difference in hostile and benevolent sexism between gender, in Ecuadorian adolescents. Participants were selected from a previous study carried out by the research professor Paula Yépez and collaborators, in 2017. The sample selected is going to be comprised by 315 adolescent school students from public, private, and municipal schools, aged between 12 to 18 years. For data collection participants were given a sociodemographic questionnaire, from which the variables school, grade, sex, age, and romantic relationship are going to be considered. Also, the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory for adolescents (ISA) was applied, from which variables such as hostile sexism and benevolent sexism are going to be studied. The data analysis is going to be carried out in SPSS program, for the inferential and descriptive statistical analysis considering a two group no experimental design. Since this is a quantitative study with a correlational approach, a t test is proposed for comparing hostile and benevolent sexism in Ecuadorian adolescents. This study also presents different intervention proposals and their application to the Ecuadorian context.2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
